One of the people I was fortunate to meet in Toronto, was Ian Ptolemy. Ian and I were part of the same cycling club (The Lapdogs) and we became friends through mutual connections, the club and road trips for spring cycling camp in South Carolina.
Ian's family cottage on a lake a few hours north of Toronto, is one of the most beautiful and relaxing places. I am so grateful for the time we shared up there. Winters and New Years in the snow, spring and summers on the lake and him allowing me to help with a bit of work on the boat house when it was crushed by shifting lake ice in a storm one year.
Ian comes from a multi-generational Canadian family. The beautiful wooden canoe in the pics, was handcrafted decades ago by the family.
