Grandma — McMahon

Vincent and Mary met when she was 20 and he was 23 — at a pub in Sydney that was a “nice place”.

They visited us in Indonesia when I was about four. I spent a little time staying in the hotel with them, without my parents, and Mom called to check on me after the first night. Apparently I told them I was witnessing to them — explaining how if you’re good you go to heaven and get a mansion, and if you’re not good you get a shack.

She was raised Catholic; her father had been quite a disciplinarian. Vince was raised Seventh Day Adventist, and his father had also belted him heavily.
