Big Plans for the Next 5 Years
In the next five years I plan to:
- Build a business that provides financial independence for me and my family.
- This means a business that does good in the world.
- It creates positive cash flow and enables me to live a life of abundance while providing for myself, a wife, one or two children, a house (with little to no mortgage) and a lifestyle of travel and positive growth.
- Design the business to be a socially responsible one — not just making money, but acting as an agent of positive change for the planet, creating a more sustainable and caring society and community, locally or globally. This may come through contributions to charitable causes from business profits, or as a direct result of the activities of the business.
- Have a place to call home — ideally a house (maybe a tree house) with a view of hills and nature.
- Live within my means, adding to the financial security and stability of my family by spending considerably less each day than what I earn or make from the business.
- Have a family. Likely a labrador and one child. We’ll ride our bikes primarily for transport.
- Be integrated into the community in a meaningful way.
- Hold diversified investments — in property, socially responsible businesses and cash — that allow us to enjoy a position of freedom and prosperity.
- Have a house in the woods: timber, with nice furnishings and a dog. And a tree house for guests.
